Went to Magasin 3 and the opening of an exhibit by Brazilian artist Maria Nepumoceno (check out more info about the exhibit here) – gorgeous, organic fairytale-like objects created with rope and pearls and a few mega pearls, I like !!

New York #3 Burtonian awkwardness

Also went to a super-crowded and super-nice Tim Burton exhibit at MoMA, I lost all my pics from the exhibit so digged some up online to remember! Lovely drawings by Mr Burton with beautiful awkward lines for beautiful awkward creatures…

New York #2 Cooper Hewitt

Three iconic American designers whose work I greatly admire: Chip Kidd, Milton Glaser and Stefan Sagmeister – all rewarded for their lifetime achievements for American design at the exhibit “Design USA” at Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum (check out the website for the exhibit here). LOVE the playfulness and personality in their work, plus commercial qualities mixed with personal vision…

Among more contemporary innovators rewarded within the design field were Target, Nike, Google, New York Times Graphics Department and of course Apple . Below is a screenshot from the Cooper website where visitors could comment on the exhibit, “GOD BLESS APPLE” hehe, it´s interesting to see how Apple inspires almost religious devotion in its users, cannot totally exclude myself from God Bless Apple-sect…

Went to Östasiatiska Museet (The East Asian Museum) about a week ago n greatly enjoyed their exhibit displaying modern interpretations of traditional Japanese clothing and accessories! Japanese design and imagination is a never-ending source of inspiration for me.

Something else I find worth sharing: a huge sculpture encountered at Bonniers Konsthall . I think I like the size more than anything else. It´s nice with things that put you in your place .

Minimalism n Love

I went to Moderna a little while ago to see a Dali exhibit. I love Dali´s work but when stepping into the minimalist section of the museum I realized at this moment in my life, minimalism affects me more. My appreciation for minimalism has grown over time and I think it has grown along with a deeper appreciation for the non-rational aspects of human existence. These pieces speak to me in silence. They´re “End of Conversation” as a friend of mine put it. They leave nothing for you to interpret but plenty for you to feel, if you let them. They´re very joyful to me.

Haven´t been very active on this blog lately, but felt the urge today to share images from an exhibition I went to recently at Kulturhuset. The images are captured by Alessandra Sanguinetti in Argentina and depict two cousins and their fantasy land and close friendship. Incredibly touching I think.
